I’m currently a semantic data modeler at IMO Health, building an ontology-driven knowledge graph based on medical vocabularies. Previously, I worked as an ontology engineer at NWEA, a division of HMH Education, building an ontology for educational measurement, curriculum development, and instructional recommendation systems.
My academic background is in a mix of statistics and the philosophies of measurement and language. This training drew me to ontology in a philosophical sense and paved my path toward ontology engineering. I always enjoy the mix of hands-on statistical work and tool building alongside thinking hard about things we try to measure.
I’m always curious about conceptual foundations of quantitative modeling practices like psychometrics or causal inference. In education, substantively, I have interests related to literacy and literacy assessment. I have more information about what an ontology engineer is and how I became one - about me! #
